Fairfield Restaurant Week Ends on a Successful Note

Restaurant Week was designed in order to give both the community an opportunity to enjoy local restaurants at prix fix prices as well as to help economically boost restaurant business in town. This special allows people to dine in at an old favorite or at new restaurants they’ve wanted to try. The low fixed price gives the security of knowing exactly what you’ll be spending. Restaurants enjoy this win win opportunity to introduce the community and visitors into their dining rooms in order to show them the best that they have to offer — enticing patrons to come back.

Many restaurants owners and managers said this week has positively impacted their restaurants and their revenues. The weather has cooperated as well — creating overflowing outdoor patio dining — as people enjoy the last days of warm weather.

Restaurant week specials continue through tomorrows RW culmination (Oct 19th). Centro Ristorante is offering a Harvest Ravioli special in conjunction with Restaurant Week and autumn. Filled with pumpkin, butternut squash, ricotta and mascarpone cheese, tossed in a sage brown butter sauce – sounds delicious. Or enjoy grilled shrimp and scallop risotto, Atlantic salmon, and other special entrée’s, with a choice of appetizer and dessert (incl peach berry pie or an ice cream sundae). ‘It’s been very busy, more so than normal,’ said the Manager.

Remember to have your Passports stamped and to return them into the specially designed receptacles at participating restaurants, the Fairfield: University Bookstore, Town Hall, or Library by October 23rd’s deadline in order to be eligible for one of the 18 prize donations and the top prize of $500 courtesy of The Grey Goose Café. Good luck!

The town of Fairfield is grateful to this year’s top-level sponsors: Bankwell, WEBE 108, Fairfield citizen News, Moffly Media and BizzBuzzTV.com, as well as to all the participating restaurants and retailers.
